This Privacy Policy explains how Vitalii Ivanov Factorial Complexity (“we”, “us”, “our”), the publisher of the Mirari app and website (the “Service”), collects, uses, and protects your information. We are the data controller for the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Our approach in one line: we collect as little as possible, we never sell your data, and we do not use your data to serve third-party advertising.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information — when you create an account, we store your email address and, if you sign in with Apple, Google, or Facebook, a provider identifier and basic profile details (such as name) supplied by that provider.
- Profile & reading preferences — a display name and settings such as your chosen reading depth or saved books.
- Messages — if you email us, we keep your message and contact details to reply.
Information collected automatically
- Subscription status — whether you hold an active subscription or trial. Payments are processed by Apple; we do not receive or store your full payment-card details.
- Basic technical & usage data — such as app version, device type, and anonymized diagnostics needed to keep the Service running reliably and secure.
2. How we use your information
- to provide the Service — authenticate you, sync your library, and unlock subscribed content;
- to process and validate subscriptions and trials;
- to respond to your enquiries and provide support;
- to maintain the security, integrity, and performance of the Service; and
- to comply with legal obligations.
Our legal bases under GDPR are: performance of a contract (providing the Service you signed up for), our legitimate interests (keeping the Service secure and improving it), your consent (where required), and compliance with legal obligations.
3. Children’s privacy
Mirari is intended to be enjoyed by children with the involvement of a parent or guardian. Accounts and purchases are intended to be created and managed by an adult. We do not knowingly collect more personal information from a child than is necessary to provide the Service, and we do not use children’s data for advertising or profiling. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without appropriate consent, please contact us and we will delete it.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract and only as needed to run the Service:
- Apple — app distribution, sign-in, and subscription billing;
- Authentication providers (Google, Facebook) — only if you choose to sign in with them;
- Hosting & content delivery (Bunny.net and our backend infrastructure) — to store your account data and deliver content.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service.
5. International transfers
Your information may be processed on servers located outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your data.
6. Data retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records to meet legal, tax, or security obligations.
7. Your rights
Depending on your location, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can delete your account and data at any time — see Delete your account — or contact us to exercise any of these rights. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; in Poland this is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures — including encryption in transit and access controls — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your data and to respond promptly to any incident.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you within the App where appropriate.
